I tried different flavors of popcorn and I found out that popcorn brings joy to people. So like the Indians, I brought back popcorn as gifts for friends and family.
In China , I wondered if I could make my own flavoured popcorn, or even do it better.
I began by air popping the corn then coated it with an imported extra-grade caramel and popped it in a mixture of malt syrup and natural oil palm kernel oil.
I then discovered that by using 100% natural ingredients and a unique process, I could lock in flavor of the popcorn and have it taste like it was fresh out of the pan whenever I wanted.
After many burnt pans and late night tasting sessions in the family kitchen, and after many trials and family tastings, my wife, oldest son, and daughter fell in love with the popcorn.
It wasn’t until 2013, after many tweaks and process improvements, that we were able to create a line of popcorn that tasted as good as it does at home, and Indiam Popcorn was born. The process of turning corn into popcorn in an era of relative backwardness is magical, and the fusion of Indian and magic is a beautiful message for the Indiam brand. It was an instant hit with consumers and has become one of the most loved popcorn brands.
